RMSW NATAS E-Newsletter April 2008

Message From The President

Greetings!
I hope this newsletter finds you all well.
It’s an exciting time for our chapter.
Approximately one month ago, I had the honor of presenting some very talented and dedicated professionals Silver and Gold Circle Awards. The Sunday brunch was held at the Arizona Club in the Chase building. We inducted six silver circle members and two gold members into an already impressive list. In order to be eligible to join the Silver Circle group, you must have dedicated 25 years to the television industry. If that’s not impressive enough, Gold Circle members have dedicated 50 years to the industry. We have a complete list of the recipients below.
Speaking of awards, our Call for Entries was released on April 21st. It is available on-line and ready for you to work with. I would like to extend a huge thank you to Chuck Emmert, Joe Pequeno and Vik Narayan for the time they spent getting this important document ready for us. Chuck has all the important dates you need to know about this year’s Emmy Event.
We also have just added some new members to our Board of Governors. They are regional representatives. Our goal is for them to be your voice. A lot of you aren’t in the Phoenix area and we want to be sure that you have local folks working for you! You will find out more about these representatives later on in this newsletter.
Best of luck to all!
Until next time!
Jennifer Jones

Each year we search our region for those individuals who have committed themselves to our industry not only with the endurance of time, but with the special qualities that set them apart from their peers. This year we celebrated our 15th “Crystal” anniversary for Silver Circle and our 3rd year anniversary for Gold Circle with a full range of honorees - videographers, producers, on air talent, a general manager, an educator and a very talented music producer! The Rocky Mountain Chapter inducted a total of 10 individuals, 2 for the Gold Circle and 8 for Silver Circle.
A Sunday brunch was held atop the Chase Tower in downtown Phoenix at the Arizona Club on March 30th with a full room of family, friends and co-workers on hand to honor this fabulous group. Congratulations to Larry Martel and Jack Miller for 50 plus years of service and becoming our newest Gold Circle members! Congratulations to Tom Chauncey, Lin Sue Cooney, David Luna, Richard McKee, Mike Serres, John Vasseur and Gilbert Zermeno for 25 plus years of service and for becoming our newest Silver Circle members! On a very special note, we honored and inducted Ron Bergamo into Silver Circle and his lovely wife Jane and family were on hand to accept his award in his memory.
Please take a moment and visit our website www.rockymountainemmy.org to read about each one of these individual’s vast accomplishments. Congratulations once again to this very talented group of people!
